本日、ウルワツで、クイックシルバー／ウルワツチャレンジが行われた。
波はあいにくと超スモールだが、世界のレジェンドサーファーが集まった、興味深いイベントだった。
Uluwatu Challenge/ Quiksilver was held at Uluwatu today.
The waves went very small but many legendary Surfers all around the world got together so,
It's gonna be a very intresting event.
チームチャレンジで、１チーム／キャプテンと５人、
１ヒート／６人／３０分、全部で１６ヒート行われた。
日本からは、ソエダヒロミチ、ワキタタカユキ、オオノマサトシが出場〜
First of all, Team Challenge.
1 Team gets a Captain and 5 other Surfers.
1 Heat/ 6 Surfers/ 30 minutes. 16 heat all together was held.
From Japan, Hiromichi Soeda, Takayuki Wakita, and Masatoshi Oono participated~
Hiromichi Soeda
チーム／ワイアンゴブレッグに入った、ヒロミチさんは第１ヒートに出場。
ハイタイドのウルを巧く繋ぎ、レジェンドとしていきなり試合を盛り上げた。
Mr Hiromichi in Team Wayan Gobleg went on the 1st Heat.
He got some waves good on the high-tide condition and this legendary Surfer made the place hot.
Takayuki Wakita
カトゥメンダチームのワキタはヒートー９に出場。
センターの張った波をとらえ、チームに貢献した。
Wakita in Team Ketut Menda came on the 9th Heat.
He catched the waves in the center and contributed to the team.
Masatoshi Ohno
クィックシルバーアイコンの一人として、チームキャプテンとなったマー。
ヒートー１２に出場し、他のチームメンバーもがんばったおかげで、チーム優勝した〜〜！！
Maa became a Team Captain as the Quiksilver's Icon.
His team went in at 12th Heat and other team members did good as well so
the Team won the VICTORY~~~!!!!
Rio Waida
ジャパニーズブロッドのリオは、バリのアップカマーキッズの一人で、将来が期待される。
Rio the Japanese blooded kid is one of the Bali's up-comer kid and
many people are expecting him to succeed.
Rizal Tandjung
今やバリレジェンドともいえる存在になったリザール。
ヒートー６では息子とパドルアウトしていった。
Rizal is like Bali's legendary Surfer now days.
On the 6th Heat, he paddled out with his son.
Peter McCabe
バリのサーフィン創世記に、ウル、パダン、グラジガンでその名を知らしめたピーターマッケイブ。
彼のようなレジェンドが、今大会に集い、和やかな雰囲気のイベントとなった。
On Bali's Surfing Genisis era, Peter McCabe made his name widely known around
Uluwatu, Padang, and G-Land.
These Legend participated on this competition so the event went very mild and nicely.
Ketut Pitur
ウルワツレジェンドのカトゥで、この波が今大会中でベストウエイブだった
Ketut, the Uluwatu's Legend got the best wave in this competition.
Mark Richards
マークリチャーズを始め、マーティンポッター、サイモンアンダーソン、マットホイ、
ジェイクパターソン等といった、歴史に刻まれたサーファーの同窓会のようなコンテストだった。
Mark Richards, Martin Potter, Simon Anderson, Matt Hoy, Jake Paterson etc....
Like these Surfers who made history also participated so this palce
looked like a reunion for them.
波には恵まれなかったが、意義のある素晴らしいイベントだった。
では、また明日から、オークリープロ／クラマスに戻るぞよ〜
We didn't get much waves but this event was a very awsome event all together.
